about MARTHA ABBOT

 Sigrid and Martha became sisters at ages 6 and 5 respectively when Sigrid's mother and Martha's father were married. Since then they have had lived their lives within the ebb and flow of their close relationship and are delighted today to be joined together again for these retreats. They complement each others strengths beautifully with Martha's background in mind/body awareness, movement and healing practices and Sigrid's passion for leading a creative life.

Martha is a Professional Level Yoga Teacher and was a director of Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training from 1998 – 2007.  She is certified in Movement Therapy, Motional Processing and is a shamanic healer, a graduate of Alberto Villoldo’s Healing the Light Body School of Energy Medicine.  She teaches yoga, does one-on-one healing sessions and leads workshops and retreats throughout the U.S. and abroad. Private Shamanic healing sessions can be scheduled with Martha. Each 90 minute Shamanic healing session is conducted privately with you and Martha. 

This is how Martha describes a session:

A Shamanic Healing session consists of:

·      identification of how the energy field is affected by a participant’s particular issue or situation.

·      The imbalance or dense energy is then cleared from the affected chakras and the whole energy body is recharged and balanced.

·      After the clearing and illumination, a reading is done, using the healing stones carried by the shaman in her mesa and drawing upon the wisdom of the archetypal elementals residing in the four directions.  The reading offers insight into the cause of ineffective or destructive patterns of thought and action and the pathway to freedom from them.

Fortified with an energetic clearing and greater self-awareness, participants are supported in stepping into a life of ultimate joy and fulfillment, satisfying their heart’s desire.
